H-E-B Movie Night presents “Julie and Julia”, showing Friday, March 19 at 8 p.m. at the Anheuser Busch Stage at Discovery Green HOUSTON – Kicking off Discovery Green’s Screen on the Green spring movie series, H-E-B is proud to present Julie and Julia featuring Meryl Streep's award-winning performance as Julia Child. This is a multimedia presentation in which life size images of the murals of Los Tres Grandes: Diego Rivera, Jose Clemente Orozco and David Alfaro Siqueiros, plus Rufino Tamayo, will be screened, using the most advanced digital technology. One of the most important goals of Discovery Green was to incorporate art throughout the park. Park organizers, through generous donors and partners like the Houston Arts Alliance, have secured the works of many renowned national and local artists to enhance Discovery Green. Great care was taken to ensure the installations would be visually prominent yet at home in the park’s environs. Monument Au Fantome - Jean Dubuffet Jean Dubuffet’s iconic sculpture was originally created between 1969 and 1971 as part of the Hourloupe series. The sculpture features seven distinct elements made of painted fiberglass over a stainless steel armature. Dubuffet’s Art Brut style, intended to achieve immediacy and vitality of expression through the combination of unexpected media, is perfectly suited to a green space located in the heart of an urban setting.
